Thien An hill and Thuy Tien lake

Thien An is a complex of many pine-covered hills in the south-west of Hue city, near Khai Dinh tomb.

Thien An monastery is located at the top of the hill. Around the hill, there are Thuy Tien lake and the ancient Ba Vanh tomb, where the trace of an old event remains. With quiet scenery and pure atmosphere, Thien An hill and Thuy Tien lake prove to be interesting place for relaxation on the weekend. A plan to create a large recreation site establishment in the near future has been initiated.

Hon Chen temple

Opposite to Vong Canh hill, Hon Chen temple is located on Ngoc Tran’s mountain slope, reflecting itself in the deep green river below. Ngoc Tran is in a shape of a downward-facing cup, so therefore is called Hon Chen (Jade Cup).

Hon Chen temple is a place for worshipping Goddess Thien Y A Na, which is solely known as a religion of Champa people. Its architectural style was not defined until 1832, when Emperor Minh Mang had the temple restored and enlarged for worshipping the above mentioned Goddess. The Temple was once again largely restored in 1882 by Emperor Dong Khanh, who then renamed it Hue Nam temple. Currently, in Hon Chen, items of worship still remain is once again under restoration.

Thuan An beach

With its mouth of 1km width, Thuan An is a place where many lagoons, big rivers as Huong, Bo, and O Lau gather. Throughout history, Thuan An port has played an important role in terms of military, transportation, economy and trade.

Located 12km from Hue city, Thuan An is an ideal beach with many beautiful landscapes. It is possible to go to Thuan An by car, motorcycle, bicycle, or by boat. At present, Thuan An beach has seriously suffered from erosion.

Tuy Van mountain

Located in the north-east of Phu Loc district. Before 1825, its name was My Am. Later that year, Emperor Minh Mang renamed it Tuy Hoa. In 1841, it was again renamed Tuy Van by Emperor Thieu Tri.

There is an ancient pagoda at the top of the mountain. In the area of the mountain, there are some Champa relics and some vestiges of a famous tower of the Cham people on Linh Thai, a mountain to the east of Tuy Van.

Canh Duong and Lang Co beach

Not far from the road, along the National highway no.1 from Hue to Danang, Canh Duong Beach is located at the foot of Hai Van pass, 55km from Hue city. It proves to be an ideal place for tourists to spend their summer holiday.

Spending their holiday on this beach, tourists can relax in a pure atmosphere of tropical climate. In addition, there are many kinds of sea products here.
